The Council of the Weepeeps

he Council of the Weepeeps listened to Clerrip's story, saw the ancient maps, read the ancient book, and scratched their ancient heads. The wondrous news spread, and a ripple of excitement ran through the village of the Weepeeps.

But then, the Weepeep Council's Official Document Peruser stood up. He "harrumphed" to clear his throat of the dust of ancient documents, and addressed the Council. "There is just one problem I see on these maps," he intoned. "Teerlaghie sits RIGHT NEXT TO Taqztahj, the huge estate of the ferocious giant Sloggrr!"

At these words, the Weepeep Council meeting erupted in pandemonium. Many Weepeeps, and many Weepeep Council members, fell upon the floor wailing and gnashing their teeth. Many later swore that they heard Sloggrr's mighty voice booming down from the mountain, and felt the ground tremble from his angry footfalls. "Sloggrr will destroy us for even thinking of climbing his mountain", they cried. "Burn the ancient book! Perhaps that will save us from his wrath! Better still, let us present Teerlaghie to Sloggrr as a gift in tribute!"
